Hi there! I'm Carrie. I started Mama Bear Chimney Services as the result of a something I don't ever want you to experience. Yes, I had a severe chimney fire. My husband and I were complacent in our annual chimney inspections and wood burning techniques. My goal is to protect as many people as possible from going through this horrible event. We were fortunate that the fire was contained in the chimney, but the results could have been much worse. My son and I were home at the time, well- do I need to say anything more? I vowed to found my business with the mission statement that "The safety of your family is our top priority".

All fireplaces are simply a way to put a 900-1,400 degree fire in the middle of a wooden structure. That is the perspective we want you to have- "I'm putting a very, very hot, large fire in the middle of my prized wooden structure". You have to minimize risk to ensure you and your family are safe. Your fireplace should be inspected annually because it can go through several changes caused by weather or seismic activity, use or abuse. If it is not inspected periodically, you do not know what type of risks you are taking. These inspections must include a camera to examine the interior of the fireplace.
